RABAT, March 30 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Argentinean counterpart Jorge Faurie, on Friday agreed to give new impetus to economic cooperation between their countries.

In a statement to the press after their talks, Bourita said the two parties agreed on concrete proposals to strengthen bilateral trade ties and identify actions for mutually beneficial economic cooperation.

The Moroccan minister noted that reinforcing relations with Argentina is in line with Morocco's vision of further diversifying its partnerships and opening on new economic and geopolitical spaces.

For his part, the Argentinean foreign minister said the north African kingdom is a "strategic" partner for his country in Africa, adding that given Morocco's position in the continent, it also offers a gateway to help Argentina to be more present in different countries on the continent.

He also noted that the two countries have diplomatic relations of nearly 60 years and that Rabat and Buenos Aires share a "very frank and concordant" dialogue on a number of bilateral and international issues.

The minister stressed the importance to put more effort in the economic field to move forward in this relationship.
