MEXICO CITY, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Argentine football great Diego Maradona has revealed plans to quit his job as head coach of Mexican second division side Dorados at the end of the season.

The 58-year-old said he felt his presence at the club was no longer beneficial, accusing referees of favoring opponents for fear of giving preferential treatment to "Maradona's team"

"There's something weird here, I do not like it," Maradona told a news conference after Dorados drew 1-1 with Venados. "I'm going to talk to the president afterwards. At the end of this [season] maybe I'll leave."

"There was a very clear penalty on [Amaury] Scotus, and do you know why they did not award it? Because you [journalists] tomorrow are going to say that it was given because it was Maradona's team. So I'm hurting Dorados and that's why I'm leaving. There's a guilty party who does not play and who is on the bench and that's me.

The 1986 World Cup winner took charge of Dorados in September, guiding them to last season's playoffs following six wins in seven matches.

The Sinaloa-based side currently sit third in the standings, having been unbeaten in eight league matches.

"Enough of football, constant fights, one behaves badly and is the worst in the world, behaves well and is the worst in the world. What I'm saying is that it's unfair because I can not do anything," he said.

Dorados' next match is against Atletico de San Luis on April 12 in the 15th round of the Ascenso MX Clausura Championship.
